The history of corset is longstanding. I have already said in another post how it appeared! The corset is designed primarily to reduce the waist and keep the torso upright, controlling the natural contours of the body and giving it more elegance.
But we can't deny that corset refers sensuality and sexuality. Fantasy and fetish. Any woman who wears this piece feels attractive, elegant an powerful. And in the relationship is good for both, man and woman, because for woman, she feels more beautiful, sexy and seductive and for the man leads the fancy fiddling with the male imaginary!

Corset comes from of the French word cors (body) and derives from the Latin word corbus. Since it appeared in the fashion history, this clothing has been used as support and control the natural contours of the body.
The first recorded corset was in Crete. The Cretans women used to show proud their bare and firm breasts, through the help of the corsets that accentuated their support with their bodies.
For many centuries, both in the East and the West side, men and woman wore loose robes. Prepare tissue layers indicated rank or wealthy of an individual. To give shape to the dresses, the clothes were tied with a belt or band. Later, to shape the body in a best way was introduced the use of the brooch or pin, and this type of clothing was very popular among the Greeks and Romans 3000 years ago.
Greek women wore under a chiton a leather band style corset and this gave for them a better definition to their hips and bust. From birth the girls were bandaged. For six months their arms and legs were tied with a cloth that restricted theirs movements and kept members straight. In teenage girls were forced to stay in shape, so their mothers used to wear strips of wool to keep the body in development, but elegant and slender.
In the Middle Ages women were covered from head to toe. The prevailing idea that body was sinful and shameful underwear too. In the late Middle Ages clothes were carefully cut and shaped to the body. The support to the bust and waist were generally made with strips of cloth. In the XIII e XVI, ties and more rigid materials were incorporated, into the garments themselves helped to shape the body into a sleek shape. This idea involved into the kirtle, a kind a starched vest and/or reinforced with strings (like fins) tied in front. But with time, the kirtle would move into clothes.
Later, the idea of dress would be separated into short bodice and skirt, allowing the corset to be fair and straight, while the skirt could be absurdly large with the help of starched petticoats and crinolines. From a practical point of view, have a unique piece made exclusively for shaping the body would be much more rational than reinforce all other parts of the wardrobe, and put stress on that part of the support would also help extend the life of the dress.
The stiffness was the main attribute of the corset for the back straight and stay in a separate bust lifted and pressed. The waist had minimal reduction since the aim was to maintain a slim and elegant posture, as one would expect from a lady. Such rigidity was achieved by heavily fabric ironing, leather, rope or reeds stiff inserted in channels between the layers of woven fabric. In the beginning of the century, the Spanish fashion had great influence among the English and Italian ladies, so the articulated iron armor were used as corset to flatten the body giving a smooth outline under clothes. The corset of iron must have been exceptionally heavy and cumbersome. The only advantage it seems that was the beginning of fashion waist. Later this corset would be incorporated with other materials such as whalebone, bone, wood and flexible steel.
In the XVIII century has began to change forms. With the French Revolution and later, the rise of Napoleon, the natural forms began to be appreciated again. But it would be for a short period. Some models of that time were harmful. With the back pressure on the internal organs and frequent blackouts had caused discontent and disapproval of doctors. The women who did extremely small waists occurred at the same frequency and in the same social context of anorexia cases nowadays. But the majority wanted to soften theirs waists to the delicate hourglass shape.
As time passed, the dresses were thinner and less broad. The petticoats were removed and the materials were being replaced. The silhouette have taken the form of an "S" (full chest, belly and straight vertical derrierè. Bust corset was lower and sometimes covered the hips. The flattening of the stomach, while maintaining the posture, The Belle Époque, it was more important than an hourglass shape, and then corsets were considered "healthy" because of it.
At the beginning of XX century, the bra had been invented and was getting popular. The elastic clothes also gave new possibilities to control the shapes. So, the corset just limited the fantasy and fetish for most of the time of the twentieth century. In the 50's, when the New look of Dior appreciated the small waist again, only strengthened the bands of tissue were used. In the late of the 70's and 80's, designers like Viviane Westwood and Jean Paul Gautier would bring back the elements of fetish and fantasy such as leather, latex, vinyl and guess what, the corset. From 90's the corset became couture. Today is a popular item from many people because in addition to bringing elegance, also alludes to the fantasy, sensuality and fetish.
Today it is easy to get it, because many studios have been specialized in making corsets.
It takes a while that I search for recipes with low carb and sugar free since I always do diets, I got positive results through the low carbohydrate diet. I have found two very interesting recipes, one from a blog with recipes with low carb, very cool blog. Here you will find several recipes. Another is the blog of Leila Zandona, Delishville sem glúten. And here you will find many recipes gluten free. I did and is more than okay.
Salmon with pesto sauce
Ingredients
600g salmon with skin on one side
3-4 heaped tablespoons of pesto
3-4 tomatoes
2 tablespoons stick or flaked almonds
2 tablespoons olive oil
salt and pepper
Directions
Preheat oven to 370ºF. Place the salmon with the skin down on a form. Put salt and pepper. Spread the pesto on top and then flaked almonds. Cut the tomatoes into slices and spread around the salmon. Spread olive oil on everything. Bake about 25 minutes. Serve with salad or mashed cauliflower.
Pesto Sauce
Ingredients
20g basil leaves
60g grated Parmesans
1/2 cup olive oil
1/3 "flour" of almonds (put the almonds in a blender and hits)
1/2 clove garlic
salt and pepper (be careful because the Parmesan is already salty)
Directions
Put the almonds in a blender and blend until a powder. Add the remaining ingredients. Blend until a sauce. Ready!
Salad Ingredients
1 celery
1/2 package of cherry tomatoes
250g white light cheese
salt, pepper, chives, oregano and basil
olive oil
Directions
Cut the celery and cook in a little water. Drain, let cool and place in a bowl with cheese and tomato. Season to taste.
Ending the saga of women in metal, we find many women as "lead singers". But this kind of contribution is not restricted in singing. We can find a lot of talents out of the vocals. Drummers, pianists and bassists are also taking the stage. The passion for music don't need to be division of gender. It is a summation and I have found talented women that share the stage with men. The only problem and I repeat, is a lack of publicity and interest in the work not only for these girls but also fro others musicians as they often only give more importance and attention to the singer. And a band is not based on one person only, but the whole thing.

The presence of women in the Metal has been growing steadily in the world of Heavy Metal. As in Metal we can find various strands such as Black Metal, Death Metal, Doom Metal, Folk Metal, Symphonic Metal, Gothic Metal, etc, there are strands in the singing too. Most of female singers specialize in the clean/ lyrical singing, but the numbers of women who use the guttural vocal are increasing in extreme metal.
The guttural vocals (from the Latin guttur, which means throat, gullet), in music, is a vocal technique that produces a rasping sound, severe or profound, which is obtained through the diaphragm support (commonly used in most styles of singing) which is breathing technique, together with distortions in the sound produced in the vocal cords and larynx, which produces a bass sound and hoarse, with an aggressive character. The style is widely used in heavy metal bands as Death Metal, Metal core, Death core and Trash Metal. It is also quite common in Black Metal, Gothic Metal and some variants of Symphonic Metal.
Types of Guttural Vocal
Fry - Vocal technique used to scream. It is commonly used in Metal core and Post-hardcore. It occurs when driving air into the stomach and increasing the tone by closing the vocal chords. Bands that use this technique: Bullet for My Valentine, Trivium, Underoath, Blessthefall, Attack! Attack!, Silverstein, Atreyu, Hopes Die Last, Escape the Fate, among many others.
Death/False Chords (Death Growls) - Vocal technique that produces a dirty scream, torn and brutal. It is commonly used in Death Metal and Black Metal. Bands that use this technique: Opeth, Cannibal Corpse, Dir en grey, Dimmu Borgir, among many others.
Pig Squeal: Is a technique throaty voice, like the squeal of a pig. This style is applied by Growl, with the difference that the squeal of the pig is positioning the ends of the tongue between the upper teeth, making a shrill sound the same torn. This tactic is used mainly in Goregrind and Death Metal bands such as Chelsea Grin and occasionally in Grindcore. Besides these are common, there is the Inward Screaming which is produced by the cries that breathe the air. All techniques involve loud cries and lows, the young fish are more concentrated in high and low resistance, but with little depth. In contrast, the chord death/false focuses on the brutality of bass. Although not as popular, the disclosure of this type of voice among women or groups in which the singer uses this technique is recognized bands like Arch Enemy's singer Angela Gossow, The Agonist's singer Alissa White Gluz and others. So I will show you seven female singers who rock.
Masha Scream - Russian singer of the Folk/Black Metal band Arkona. Even being from Russia, Masha has been incorporate the Scandinavia culture mingling with her native culture, making rich lyrics and worshiping the viking spirit. And she incorporate the both types of singing, the clean and the aggressive style.
Angela Gossow - German singer of the Swedish band Arch Enemy. She had worked in a advertising firm and had studied economics, when in 1999 she did an interview with Arch Enemy for an online magazine during the Burning Bridges' tour. On this occasion she gave a demo tape of Mistress (the band she was a lead singer). In 2000 Johan Liiva left the band and the guitarist called her for auditions to join the band.
Candice - French singer of the band Eths, formed in 1999. Candice sings in French and switches between clean and guttural. The lyrics of the songs are inspired by the painful childhood of Candice.
Otep Shamaya - American singer and songwriter. She made her debt in 2000 with the band Otep. It is easily distinguished by her heavy singing with lyrical elements, clear voice and guttural.
Today I have decided to make a new cupcake recipe. I was taking a look at Pam*B's site here and I found this recipe. I liked the result and I hope you enjoy it!
Carrot and chocolate cupcake
Cupcake Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups brown sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
3 cups grated carrots very thin
4 eggs
1 cup oil (1 less finger)
Cupcake Directions
Preheat oven to 350 F. In a bowl mix the flour mixture and carrots. Add the slightly beaten eggs and oil. Mix well and distribute into cupcakes paper. Bake about 25 minutes or until toothpick test comes out clean. Remove from oven and let cool on a rack.
Coverage
300g melted chocolate
1/2 cup heavy cream without serum
2 tablespoons honey
Coverage Directions
Melt chocolate, add the cream and honey, and mix until creamy smooth and uniform. Refrigerate for 20 minutes. Then beat in a mixer until smooth and lighten a little. Put in a pastry bag and cover the cupcakes.
It has been said that women are a weaker gender. Well sometimes not even that. The good thing about being a woman is we can exert both sides. We can be feminine, subtle, delicate and the same time we can be strong, determined and with a hint of aggression, but without losing our femininity. Never! And when we talk about the world music, there is still some trepidation about women in metal, so we can not deny that there is a man club in which men have total control. Most fans and members of metal bands are composed by men. All though the genre is rude, aggressive and even offensive, but now we find many women who enjoy the sound. And believe me there are several bands that can be attended including the vocals. Besides having good looks, the vocal burst in and put shame several men.
And for those who think that their participation is recent, you are mistaken. The first group of female participation to achieve a certain level of recognition in this period was Girlschool. Emerged in 1978 and it was a metallic version of "The Runnaways". The sound caught the attention of Lemmy Kilmister, Motörhead eternal leader, who became a sort of godfather of the band. So in 1979 they opened a part of the tour dates for release of Overkill. Others bands also appeared as Rock Goddess (was formed by women only), but is was not expressive as Girlschool, in part because he appeared at the same time and they have not the "luck" that Girlschool had as contact with Lemmy. In 1983 in Dusseldorf, Germany, appeared Warlock, with Doro Pesch as vocalist and the only girl in this band. She is also known as the "Queen of Metal" until today. Bitch was the first heavy metal band from United States of America to have a female member (Betsy Bitch). A curious fact is Bitch was the first band to sign a contract with the legendary label Metal Blade, which is responsible for revealing names like Metallica, Slayer and Armored Saint, among others. Of course, there were and there are other bands with female members, so I apologize if I not mentioned them. Maybe this is the first chapter among others?...kkkk.
In this first part I would like to mention six vocalists who follow several strands of metal. Besides I really like their music, I think they have an incredible talent (and there are several talents around the world, but the lack of media interest in the disclosure becomes poor or almost nonexistent).
1. Tarja Turunen - Lyrical singer, songwriter and pianist who became world famous Finnish vocalist of symphonic metal band Nightwish between 1996 and 2005. Currently it goes on a solo career.
4. Inga Scharf - Lead singer of the German band Van Canto. They blend with the style a capella and heavy/power metal, creating a style they call "a capella metal hero".

Last Sunday was the last day of the second edition of the International Crafts Araçatuba -SP, in Brazil. Altogether, there were booths from 27 countries and 15 states. Many attractions such as clothing, accessories, decorations, treats, food, etc. Almost a trip to the whole world in a small space. A fair that practically has filled our eyes and mouths. And I must emphasize that it was love at first, second, third, etc..bite: It was the french Crepe Paris Bistrot Tropicalia of Ana Junqueira Bachelet and her husband Vicent.
Wonderful crepes. Do you know that kind of tasting that you eat kneeling and praying? The crepe's Bistrot is as well and for once I'm not ashamed to say that I repeat shamelessly...kkk. And the couple's friendliness was contagious. Well, if you someday go to Paris, why not go to Tropicalia Bistrot and enjoy what they have to better to offer. Au revoir!

Passion Fruit Cupcakes Yield: 18 cupcakes
Cupcake ingredients
1 cup coconut milk
7 ounces passion fruit pulp, room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
1 cup sugar
4 eggs
Cupcake Directions
Preheat oven 350F. In a small bowl, combine coconut milk, passion fruit, and vanilla. Set aside. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs to the sugar mixture one at time, beating well after each addition. Alternately add the flour mixture and the passion fruit mixture to the egg mixture, beating well after each addition. Fill cupcake liners 3/4 full. Bake for 20 minutes or until cupcakes bounce back when lightly touched.
Frosting Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
8 ounces white chocolate, melted but cool enough to touch
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup powdered sugar
Frosting Directions
Whip butter in a large mixing bowl on high speed until light and fluffy, about three minutes. Mix in melted chocolate and salt. Mix in powdered sugar a little bit at a time until fully incorporated. Pipe onto cooled cupcakes.

Oomph! pronounced (oomf). It is a German rock band formed in Wolfsburg, Germany in 1989, with only three members: Dero (vocals, drums), Flux (guitar, sampling) and Crap (guitar, keyboards). The band incorporates many styles such as metal, industrial, alternative rock, electronic and Gothic to create their sound. As a fan I can say it was love at first sight. The sound is amazing with intelligent and deep lyrics and sometimes controversial, but it makes you reflect on many things. Here I put the first videos I've seen that night.
